With the development of society and economy, power users have higher and higher requirements for power supply reliability. Therefore, it is increasingly important to conduct online monitoring of substation equipment to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power supply system.

First, by continuously or periodically automatically monitoring and monitoring the operating status and parameters of power equipment, potential abnormal factors of power equipment can be discovered as early as possible, so that timely measures can be taken to deal with or to transfer the load. Prevent potential abnormal factors from developing into accidents, causing equipment damage or power loss.

Second, through the online monitoring device provided by the operating status and parameter analysis of the operating power equipment, the "health status" of the power equipment can be obtained, and the power equipment needs to be overhauled.

Third, the online monitoring system can realize remote transmission of information, and can realize remote monitoring of equipment for unattended substations. Fourth, the operation data of equipment can be accumulated through online monitoring to facilitate the scientific management of power equipment.

So what are the commonly used online monitoring in substations? It mainly includes online monitoring of dissolved gases in oil with oil equipment, online monitoring of gas pressure and humidity of sulfur hexafluoride gas insulated switchgear, online monitoring of partial discharge of electrical equipment, online monitoring of lightning arresters, circuit breaker mechanism status and three-phase separation Simultaneous monitoring of closing. The first one refers to the dissolved gas (including micro water) in the oil of oil-immersed equipment such as transformers. For online monitoring of transformers, the gas collection and detection process is very important. Collect the gas in the insulating oil: firstly separate the gas and oil, and then store the separated gas in the gas chamber.
Since the gas is a mixture of multiple gases, and the flow rate of each component in the chromatographic column is different, the chromatographic column can be used for separation. The sensor collects the separated gas concentration in sequence, and then converts them into electrical signals and sends them to the data processing module for analysis. According to the principle of oil chromatography, it is necessary to measure hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane, ethylene, acetylene, ethane, carbon dioxide and micro water in the gas.
