As a new industry that uses solar energy to generate electricity, the photovoltaic industry has the characteristics of safety, reliability, noiselessness, low pollution, no fuel consumption, and short construction period compared with traditional power generation methods. Therefore, it is valued by countries all over the world. my country has become the world's largest producer of photovoltaic power generation components and accessories, and the industrial scale of all aspects of photovoltaic power generation has maintained a momentum of rapid growth.

China's photovoltaic industry started late but is showing a momentum of rapid development. Especially during the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" period, my country has successively adopted the "National High-Tech Research and Development Plan" and the "Technology Tackling" plan in the research and development of photovoltaic power generation technology. Research on the key technologies of copper indium selenium thin film batteries, crystalline silicon thin film batteries and application systems has greatly improved the level of photovoltaic power generation technology and industry, and shortened the gap between photovoltaic power generation manufacturing and the international level.
The development of human society is inseparable from the demand for electricity. my country is the world's largest electricity consumer. According to statistics from the China Electricity Council: As of the end of June 2020, the country’s installed power generation capacity reached 2.05 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%; among them, the installed capacity of thermal power using primary energy reached 1.21 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%; coal-fired The installed capacity of power generation was 1.05 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 3.0%; the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation was 220 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%.
Currently, coal for power generation accounts for about 25% of the country's total coal output. As a non-renewable resource, coal storage capacity is decreasing, and a large amount of toxic and harmful substances will be discharged during use, which will pollute water, soil and atmosphere, form greenhouse effect and acid rain, and seriously endanger the environment on which humans depend. . Therefore, a new energy industry is urgently needed internationally to replace traditional fuels and reduce the impact on the environment.

Although photovoltaic power generation has many advantages, there are still some problems that need to be solved in specific application scenarios. For example, photovoltaic power generation urgently needs to be refined to achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement; traditional photovoltaic brackets cannot track light due to fixed installation angles, and cannot maximize Utilize solar energy; traditional photovoltaic panels need to rely on maintenance personnel for inspection and management, which is costly and has missed inspections. The Internet of Things technology can help the photovoltaic industry to further improve efficiency. In order to effectively solve the above problems, LoRa is recommended for the characteristics of large photovoltaic coverage. Because LoRa has the characteristics of maturity and stability, wide coverage, strong anti-interference, flexible networking, and high economy, it is very suitable for the IoT needs of the photovoltaic industry.

And as a key part of the system, LoRa-based terminals are responsible for the wireless transmission of business data. It is precisely because Semtech's LoRa technology has the characteristics of long transmission distance, low power consumption, and strong anti-interference, which makes it very suitable for harsh installation environments. In addition, the system can be upgraded through remote upgrade (OTA) tools without manual On-site operation improves system intelligence and automation management.
