New Japan Radio (NJR) has recently designed and developed a high-precision, adjustable output voltage shunt regulator NJM17431, and has begun to provide samples.

The shunt regulator NJM17431 newly designed and developed by NJR adopts the latest manufacturing technology and analog electronic technology accumulated over many years. It has the characteristics of high precision, wide stable working area*1 and adjustable output voltage. Samples are already available at this stage.
The reference voltage accuracy of NJM17431 is 0.8%, and the stable working area is expanded for large capacitive loads, so it can be widely used in various applications.
This shunt regulator can also be used in place of Zener diodes.
This feature of wide and stable working area helps to reduce the design man-hours of electrical equipment engineers and the test burden during replacement design.
 
*1 If a general shunt regulator uses a ceramic capacitor with a capacitance of about 1μF, which is easy to obtain, the circuit operating state will enter an unstable area and unstable operating conditions will appear.
In the output capacitance range from 0.01μF to 100μF, NJM17431 can work stably in the actual use area of ​​cathode current.
